Veteran Music Director Pyarelal honoured with Malwa Sangeet Sammaan
Pyarelal (of the renowned music director-duo pair Laxmikant Pyarelal) was felicitated by the Malwa Rangmanch Samiti in Ujjain recently.He was accorded the warmest welcome by the huge gathering. Pyarelal Sharma, the better half of Laxmikant Kudalkar who gave music to over 500 films in Bollywood was felicitated by Dr Mohan Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Maharishi Panini Sanskrit Vishvavidhyalay, Shri Neeraj Mandloi, Shri Shubkaran Sharma and Shri R.D.Jain on the dais with the traditional ‘Tilak’ on the forehead and crowned with a pink turban. Pyarelal was overwhelmed with emotions and said that he wanted to come to Ujjain and was waiting for this glorious moment as he wanted to have the ‘darshan’ of Shri Mahakaleshwar.
Keshav Rai, the President of Malwa Rangmanch Samiti took Pyarelal for the ‘darshan’ and also told the gathering that he wished the felicitation ceremonies of the leading filmland personalities will be done on a national level by the Malwa people. Upcoming music director Siddharth Kashyap highlighted the achievements of Laxmikant Pyarelal in their 40 years rein in a special tribute as ‘LP KI Sangeet Yatra’.
A musical programme highlighting the 40 glorious years of the popular duo Laxmikant Pyarelal was held with the most memorable songs played with the help of 16 musicians. Among the singers were the well known Abhaas Joshi ( Voice Of India fame),Harish Moyal ( Indian Idol fame), Hrishikesh Karmerkar ( of WANTED fame), Sarika Singh ( SA RE GA MA fame)and Shrikant Narayan ( renowned singer), Master Rahul Roy, Kum. Garvita Jain, S.L. Vaid rendered the popular songs and made the evening a spellbinding one.
Pratibha Raghuvanshi, Shiuli Mandloi and Baby Muskaan regaled the huge gathering with their dances to the popular dance numbers of Laxmikant-Pyarelal.Smita Parekh, DJ of Radio FM and Devmani Pandey, popular anchor conducted the show brilliantly. Mahesh Sharma Anuraag read out the record achieved by the maestros Laxmikant Pyarelal in their prime time as music composers and said that this duo had recorded the maximum duet numbers of the renowned singers Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar and also the maximum songs of Kishore Kumar.
Among the gathering were a huge crowd of college students, both boys and girls who were thrilled to no end after each song was heard by them and they shouted “Once More” after every number. Undoubtedly, it was one of the best shows held in recent times and even Pyarelalji was surprised at the way the youngsters were still remembering his songs of the seventies and eighties which had rocked many Bollywood hits and are still evergreen today.
